It has been founded with prior knowledge of the Ministry of Health with a view to meetings requests for storage of autologous cord blood. The laboratory area consisting of main divisions which could provide services of cell processing, freezing, storage and thawing has 2 class B clean rooms. The laboratory area of 300 sqmpertaining to Acıbadem Cord Blood Bank has been created using clean room panels and is also GMP certified.

Pressure differences between class B and class C sterile rooms located at the laboratory and air quality can be instantly monitored by means of special equipment. Data records of these measurements in line with GMP requirements are kept in a certified fashion, and possible deviations are notified to officials by means of an alarm that goes off and such deviations are recorded. The entire system has been validated according to GAMP 5.
